Imagine, for a moment, that you have two great passions in your life, first music, “the universal language of men, angels, and spirits.” (p. 500); and then The Urantia Book, a new revelation to our world. Then imagine that, for the first half of your adult life, you were able to pursue your first passion, music, as a career and profession, sharing the love and gift of music, and then adding the joy of joining the staff of Urantia Foundation, the original publisher and custodian of The Urantia Book.
Well, that’s what has happened to me, making me the luckiest person I know. Working with the Foundation, since mid 1980s at 533 Diversey, which my friends and I lovingly used to refer to as “the manger”, has been the greatest joy, along with music, in my life. In rare moments, these two passions are blended into one.
The Urantia Book has been a great inspiration for me both in my personal life and in my music career. Especially the revelation about the Celestial Artisans lit a fire in me, and was first realized in my impromptu performance with Cristina Seaborn at the Maine Urantia Conference in 1987, where Urantia teachings, spiritual insight, and music all blended beautifully in a few moments of spontaneous music.
